Ever used a computer that is just BASIC. I mean so basic that the poor thing does not even have an email client loaded, but you need a file NOW. Well there are many ways, ftp, sftp, IM, etc. All of which depend on the sender having the technical knowledge to use the tool. Big problem if they don’t have the skill.

The solution is Droopy a mini web server. Its purpose is to permit another party to upload the file(s) to you. It is the rare person who does not know how to use a browser. The nice thing about Droopy is that it is platform independent running via Python. All you need is a upload directory, python and the Droopy script. This is one of those tools to keep packed in the back of your head for that certain emergency.
